ABOUT THE SHOWS

An evening at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is an experience you will never forget. The unique style of shows presented in this 1890s style theatre are a combination of Old English music hall, American vaudeville, Monty Python, and Broadway musical comedy. The original shows are quick-witted sensations filled with the broadest of humor and the silliest of slapstick all guaranteed to be unlike anything you´ve seen before.

The creative force behind the theatrical magic at Sweet Fanny Adams is the wonderfully off-beat talents of Pat and Don MacPherson. They have written, produced, and directed over 32 original musical comedies. Their shows have played in over forty professional theatres throughout the country including New York, Los Angeles, Atlantic City and an over two year run of their musical "Tom Jones" at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas.

Since opening in Gatlinburg in 1977, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre has been recognized as one of the most innovative and unusual professional theatres in the country and was named an historical treasure by the city of Gatlinburg.

Two completely different shows are presented each season and are alternated nightly. And for the holiday season, there's "Yuletide Madness" to tickle your fancy and jingle your bells. Our multi-talented performers are all well-seasoned professionals of stage, screen, TV, and night clubs. For each show they take turns adding their uniqueness to the inevitable comic mayhem for which Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre is renowned.

CAST MEMBERS

Pat MacPherson
Co-Owner, Producer & Full-Time Granny

Pat has danced her way across Europe, starred in her own TV show, wowed them in Las Vegas, been in movies, written more than 30 comedies, and charmed the audiences at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre for years. Although she no longer graces our stage, she is the busiest retired person we know. Sadly, Pat has lost her favorites pair of false eyelashes somewhere in the theatre. They answer to "Fred". If anyone should find them, please notify animal control immediately.

Don MacPherson

Don was born when he was very young and has not aged a day since. When lucid, his creative mind spills its contents for all to enjoy and ponder. In his spare time, Don enjoys directing, acting in strange musical comedies and running the family business. His day job is top secret but, rumor has it, he is fashion coordinator for the military’s summer line of camouflage.

Janice Snider

Discovered in a Saloon, Janice first appeared on our stage in 1979 in her favorite show “Tom Jones”. And, if calculations are correct, that would have made her 5 years old, which is far too young to be hanging around a Saloon, let alone Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. Since then, Janice has sung and danced her way through just about every show here and at home.

Tim Coleman

Tim first sauntered upon our stage in 1987 and has shown up every year since and vows to continue to do so until he completes his escape tunnel under the stage. He is 6’-1” (without high heels) and his age is negotiable. Tim has played a staggeringly wide variety of roles, breads, and confections but, never, ever a sesame seed bun (he has limits).

Chris MacPherson

Chris began his acting career at the tender age of six right here on our stage. He toured the country with Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus as Crunchy the Clown. Fortunately for all of us, he ran away from the Circus and came home. In his spare time, Chris enjoys working on his tan and debating world events with his imaginary friend, Bubba.

Rachel Snider

It is rumored, our Rachel was first spotted backstage under one of the dressing tables. Her mother, Janice, was pregnant during Act 1 and by Act 2 . . . well it’s only a rumor from unreliable sources. All grown, Rachel now brightens our stage and our hearts. In her spare time, she cares for her pet zebra named Spot and is determined to alphabetize her bag of M&Ms.

Jennifer MacPherson-Evans
General Manager, Marketing Director & Stand-by Plumber

Our Jenny keeps us all on our toes, owing to the fact that she has hidden all the chairs backstage. With far too much cheer and energy for a mother of four, she runs the day to day operation of our theatre and marketing programs with unmatched enthusiasm along with a heavy dose of affection for all.
